The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) functions as a supervisor and assumes accountability for the operation of the department. This includes the management, supervision and evaluation of care delivered by nursing and other allied health care staff. As a registered nurse, the ANM demonstrates a high level of clinical expertise, leadership, and creative approaches to management of complex care. The Assistant Nurse Manager is also responsible for contributing to the establishment and implementation of evidenced-based nursing standards of practice. In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, he/she creates a positive work environment which enhances care delivery and professional development of clinically competent staff. This ANM will cross train and cover for the Staffing Coordinator as needed. This RN is a nurse supervisor and provides oversight for the administration of leave, counseling and disciplinary actions in collaboration with the Nurse Manager. The ANM serves as Acting Nurse Manager in the absence of the Nurse Manager and collaborates with other NMs/ANMs of the inpatient units to meet the staffing needs of the organization. This Assistant Nurse Manager will report directly to the Nurse Manager of the Float Pool.
Work Schedule: Shift, weekend and holiday rotation is required with flexibility as patient care and/or staffing needs require.
