As part of our Wireless Hardware group, you’ll be responsible for bringing groundbreaking wireless connectivity to the world. On this team, you’ll help improve the performance of our products through innovative system-on-chip designs. You and your team will build platform architecture that paves the way for all-new experiences, including the ones that allow people to take advantage of our innovations in sensor technology. Together, our goal is to ensure nothing stands in the way of our customers’ connections with their devices. Join us and help build world-renowned wireless systems that connect customers to their world like never before. Integrate golden calibration algorithms for wireless transceivers in automation infrastructure. Validate and characterize algorithms on real silicon alongside PHY, MAC, RFIC, and digital circuit designers. Bring up and take to production state-of-the-art physical layer wireless communication system algorithms for very high data rate applications. Design and implement the bring-up infrastructure including chip drivers, debug tools, and automation environment. Build and implement test plans; collect and analyze test results; identify, root-cause, and debug issues. Champion the test campaigns through the bring-up, tuning, characterization, and other phases of post-silicon chip development.

Key Qualifications

  • This is an individual technical contributor role that requires industry experience in system integration, bringing up, and productization of wireless communication systems.
  • Deep understanding of communication theory and radio calibration algorithms (such as modulation, signal estimation/detection, gain control, and RF impairment estimation/correction).
  • Extensive experience, knowledge, and skills in system bring-up, integration, characterization, and debug of real wireless silicon in a lab.
  • Experience using and understanding the theory of operation of lab equipment (spectrum analyzer, signal generator, network analyzer, power meter, etc).
  • Experience developing test automation including equipment drivers, debug tools, automation scripts, database interfaces, and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge in existing wireless communication protocols: 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be, 802.11ad/ay, Bluetooth/BLE, or cellular technologies.
  • Extensive Experience with Matlab, Python, Shell scripting, and/or C/C++!
  • Experience with automation infrastructure development (traceability, repeatability) and related tools (GIT, CI, database, reporting tools).

In this technical role, you will be responsible for system integration and characterization of state-of-the-art wireless SoC products, and lead the test development at the center of a silicon design group!

Education & Experience

Minimum qualification is BS+10 years of relevant experience.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700.00 and $300,200.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
