The University of Miami, Office of Institutional Research & Strategic Analytics (IRSA) ] has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Institutional Research Analyst 2 to work in Coral Gables, FL.
The Institutional Research Analyst 2 is proficient coordinating external and internal surveys and reports (e.g., IPEDS, Fact Book, U.S. News and world Report, College Board survey, Petersonís, Princeton Review, Wintergreen, QS, Time Higher Education, and Thompson Reutter survey, etc.) using data from external databases and various benchmark files. This role has a primary responsibility for supporting data collection, analysis, reporting and dissemination of information regarding University statistics. The Institutional Research Analyst 2 prepares publications (e.g., Fact File, Admission Profile, and School Fact File, etc.) and responds to data requests from individuals within and outside the University. This position provides information and insight which aid in the tracking and driving of the universityís Strategic Roadmap Initiatives and key performance indicators. This role requires a high level of curiosity and ability to critically assess existing processes and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Collects, analyses, and reports University-related information to internal and external entities on routine and ad-hoc basis.
Coordinates the submission of institutional data files to external agencies.
Monitors and validates data to ensure data integrity.
Assists in reporting University data to support institutional decision-making.
Provides data and analysis to departments to support program review and accreditation needs.
Coordinates and develops high impact reports for improving student performance indicators.
Summarizes and presents data outcomes, recommendations, and methodology to leadership teams across the university, including vice presidents, deans and provost.
Operates with intellectual curiosity and critically assess existing processes and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement.
Promotes and facilitates data literacy across the organization.
Keeps up-to-date with latest technology trends.
Develops strong relationships with internal and external contacts.

Bachelorís or masterís degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Economics or other Social Science discipline preferred.
Certification and Licensing:
3 years of experience in Institutional Research or Analytics field.
Experience or education related to survey and statistical research.
Experience conducting and publishing research, with examples of white papers or peer-reviewed journal articles.
Experience with and knowledge of Power BI or other similar business intelligence/data visualization software.
Experience with and knowledge of relational databases (specifically SQL Server) and data warehouses.
Experience within a Higher Education institution preferred, but not necessary.
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Spark, etc.) preferred, but not necessary.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

Familiarity with SAS, SPSS or other statistical tools.
Experience querying databases and using statistical computer languages: SAS, SPSS, SQL, etc.
Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using Power BI, Tableau, etc.
